American Expats in Mexico Are a Happy Bunch

I live on about 50% of my monthly social security here. Next, we get free medical care from the Mexican government - we pay no taxes, except on the houses or property we own. I have a beautiful home with sculptured rose gardens, fountain and jacuzzi and my annual property tax bill is $63 US - I don’t know anywhere in the US where the property taxes are that low. The cost of living is cheap. to get land line phone, high speed internet, and satellite TV - all 3 is about $55 a month. Electricity for all day use of TV and fans, and everything (no a/c is needed) is about $30 a month, gas for cooking about $8, or gas for cooking and hot water is about $12 a month (I have solar hot water, no monthly cost), water is about $50 a year, food is fresh and organic and from farms nearby, right now oranges are about 15 cents a pound, fresh mea
